On 4/13/2007 at approximately 3:00 PM, Shelton Police were advised of an attempted abduction of a female employee of 6 Corporate Drive.  Police responded and found that Corporate Security detained the male suspect, identified as Qadir Jamadar Fayaz Ahmed Abdul, who was involved in an incident in the stairwell. (between floor 3 and 4) at 6 Corporate Drive.  Security stated the victim reported this male had grabbed her in the stairwell and restrained her against her will.

Ahmed Abdul was arrested at the scene.  Detectives later interviewed Ahmed Abdul who admitted to grabbing the female from behind, around her mouth and neck area.

Ahmed Abdul admitted that is intentions were to kill the woman.  Ahmed Abdul could not give a reason for his actions.  Police could only determine that Ahmed Abdul was under stress lately and Ahmed Abdul believed he was a "failure" at work.  Police could not determine any relation between Ahmed Abdul and his victim.  Police believed this was a random act of violence.

Police arrested Ahmed Abdul on the charges of Kidnapping 1st Degree, Unlawful Restraint and Assault 3rd.  Ahmed Abdul was held on a $150,000.00 bond and was arraigned in Derby Superior Court today.
