 Shelton Police issued warning of a scam

On March 24, 2007, The Shelton Police took a complaint regarding a white female scamming money from a bank customer.  The complainant stated that on Thursday March 22, 2007 he was standing in line at The Peoples Bank, 898 Bridgeport Avenue when this white female approached him stating that she had lost her pocket book and did not have any money to get back home to New Jersey.             

The complainant stated that the girl was crying and he gave her $40.00 dollars for a train ride and also another $20.00 dollars for her to get something to eat.  The complainant gave his business card to the female and told her when she gets back home she could send him the money back.             

A few days later the complainant saw the same female at Naugatuck Savings Bank, Bridgeport Avenue. The complainant saw the girl getting money from another bank customer.            

The white female is described as approximately 5’5” tall; 19 to 21 years of age, wearing nice clothes.  The girl ran to the driver’s side rear door of a silver or grey Honda or KIA.   The hub cap of the rear driver’s side was missing.
