Shelton Police Arrest Two Youths After Foot Chase

On March 21, 2007, the Shelton Police Patrol Division made arrests on two youths after a report of a stolen vehicle.

The Shelton Police Department was dispatched to 125 Hill Street for a report of a stolen vehicle.  The complainant stated that she left her vehicle running in front of her house while she assisted her neighbor.  The complainant then stated that she saw two young males, wearing hooded sweatshirts walk by her vehicle.  One of the youths jumped into her vehicle and drove up Hill Street, stopped the vehicle and picked up the other youth.  Patrol radioed the description to the other area cars.  Patrol then observed the stolen vehicle parked at the intersection of Perry Avenue and Beard Street.  The Officer then located the two youths walking on Howe Avenue after a short foot chase down to Canal Street.  One of the youths was caught immediately and the second youth was apprehended later on.

The youthful offender (age 16) was arrested and charged with Larceny in the Third Degree, Interfering with an Officer and Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License.

The juvenile (age 13) was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in the Third Degree.
