******PRESS RELEASE******DATE: 3/9/07By: Detective Thomas Federowicz Shelton Police Conduct Locker Sweep at High School On March 9, 2007, the Shelton Police Department, in conjunction with the Shelton Board of Education, conducted a locker sweep at Shelton High School, using narcotic trained dogs. The Shelton Police Department, with assistance from the Middlebury Police, Ansonia Police and Stratford Police, conducted the sweep at Shelton High School. The search started at approximately 10:00 AM, while the school was put in a lockdown phase. During this time frame the K-9's were allowed to check the lockers. The search had one positive hit, which lead to the arrest of a 17 year old high school student. The 17 year old student was charged with Possession of Marijuana less than 4 ounces, and released on a five hundred dollar bond. The court date is scheduled for March 21, 2007.
