Cruelty to Animals Charge

On Friday, February 23, 2007, an arrest warrant was served on Dennis D'Archangelo for 3 counts of Cruelty to Animals.  Mr. D'Archangelo is the owner of the Double D Stable located at 627 Long Hill Ave, Shelton, CT.

An investigation was started in July of 2006 after receiving a complaint concerning the conditions of the horses living at the stable.  The investigation was conducted by the Shelton Animal Control Officer along with Animal Control Officers from the State of Connecticut Department of Agriculture Division of Animal Control.  The investigation showed that Mr. D'Archangelo failed to properly water, feed and have medical treatment for the horses.  There were a total of 5 horses at the stable at the time.  Three of the horses were observed to be underweight.  One of the horses had to be euthanized because of its condition.

Mr. D'Archangelo was released on $5,000 Surety Bond and was given a court date of March 5, 2007 at Derby Superior Court.
