Shelton Police Make Phone Harassment Arrest

Shelton Police have arrested 33-year-old Brian Perez of 73 Rugby Road, Shelton and charged him with Harassment 2nd Degree.  He is being held at Shelton Police lock up on a $5,000.00 court set bond.  Perez is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow at Derby Superior Court.  The arrest comes after Police conducted a six month investigation that concluded that Perez was calling a local female bartender at her place of business late at night. The victim stated Perez would breathe heavy, moan, constantly repeat her name, and claimed he was performing sexual acts on himself while talking to her

Police teamed up with AT&T Phone Security and were able to track the calls to the arrestee's home phone.  When questioned, Perez admitted that he has been frequenting the establishment where the 36-year-old female works for the last ten years.  He admitted to making the calls almost weekly over at least an 18-month period.  The victim stated she was afraid the caller did know her and was following her.  Shelton Police are withholding the name of the victim and her place of employment for safety reasons while the investigation continues.  Police will not rule out the possibility that more charges could be filed.
