Shelton/Trumbull Police Investigating Fatal Accident
The Shelton and Trumbull Police Departments are conducting a joint investigation on a two-car, head-on, fatal accident that occurred at 7:25 AM this morning on Moose Hill Road in Shelton, about 100 feet from the Trumbull line. Shelton Police can confirm one 14 year old passenger, Nia Stephenson, of 35 Morningside Drive, Bridgeport, was transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport and pronounced dead. Her father (the driver of the vehicle), 39-year-old Andrew Stephenson (same address), is in serious condition at Bridgeport Hospital. The driver of the second vehicle, 17-year-old Michael Plude Jr., of Philip Drive, Shlelton, suffered minor injuries.
The actual cause of the accident is still under investigation by both the Trumbull Police Traffic Division and the Shelton Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
