COPSA-CT Scholarship Program:
Jean Hillstrand Memorial Scholarships
The Jean Hillstrand Memorial Scholarship is named for a charter member of the Chiefs of Police Secretaries Association, which was organized in 1986. Mrs. Hillstrand served as the Secretary to the Chief of Police in the Berlin Police Department for 18 years. She was an active supporter of COPSA. and made valuable contributions to the organization in its formative months. It is fitting and proper that this memorial scholarship is offered on the anniversary of her untimely death in 1988.
Two scholarships in the amount of $500.00 each are offered to foster pride and to encourage people to pursue higher education.
Eligibility Requirements
Any person who is an employee of a Police Department whose Secretary is a member of COPSA
Also, any student whose mother, father or guardian is an employee of a member police department
Applicants should be entering or enrolled in a formal program of higher education in an accredited school/college/university.
Scholarship applications must be submitted before February 28, 2011 to Marcia Krusewski
